Paul has been involved in many areas of civil and criminal cases from trial through appellate stages of litigation. He has clerked at the Texas 1st Court of Appeals in Houston and was involved in the researching and drafting of published opinions for the Court.
Criminal cases have included successful jury verdicts and successful appeals.
Civil cases have included both plaintiff’s and defendant’s cases at the trial and appellate court levels.
Civil cases have included Texas DTPA, family law, corporate defense, internet “anti-cybersquatting” defense, Insurance Defense – Personal injury; Plaintiff’s Personal Injury; wrote the briefs and argued the precedent setting “Fisherman’s Harvest” (490 F.3d 1371) case at the U. S. Federal Circuit Court of Appeals for the case winning plaintiffs; Represented and counselled start-up companies by setting up corporate structure; Represented foreign and domestic companies in Government bid appeals; has provided writing and briefing assistance to Eastern European lawyers in filing cases with the European Court of Human Rights; Drafted and implemented contracts for the Ukrainian company for use in its International Equipment sales.
Non Law Related Experience
Paul spent over 20 years in the U. S. Marine Corps as an Assault Amphibian Officer and as a Motor Transport Officer on active duty and in the Selected Marine Corps Reserve. Paul is a Desert Storm Veteran.
Paul previously worked for the Parts & Service Division of Ford Motor Company as a Zone Manager and was Ford’s Zone Manager of the Year in 1988.
Paul lived and worked in Ukraine and Germany for three years and represented a Ukrainian Company in Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Egypt, Lebanon, Italy, Germany and the USA and created an internet marketing program that involved the renaming of the company’s equipment line with modern, western names. While working in Ukraine, Paul re-wrote technical manuals in English for use by the company’s world wide “English Speaking” client base.
Paul is an avid historian and in his spare time restores antique cars and specializes in Pontiac Muscle Cars of the late 1960's.
