Brian Tooks is an attorney that is federally registered to practice before the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office. Brian specializes in prosecuting applications for patents, as well as applications for federal registration of trademarks.
In the past, Brian was employed by industry giant Sprint as both a telecommunications engineer responsible for managing aspects of the company’s fiber optic network and a law intern responsible for helping to obtain U.S. patent protection for various Sprint inventions. After earning a law degree, Brian served as a law clerk for judges Albert Riederer and Thomas Newton of the Missouri Court of Appeals, drafting a variety of legal case opinions on behalf of the state appellate court judges.
Brian received a full congressional appointment to the U.S. Air Force Academy from former U.S. Senator Nancy Kassebaum and former U.S. Representative Jan Myers (both of KS), but elected to attend and earn a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Kansas in Lawrence, KS. He later earned a law degree from the University of Missouri at Kansas City, MO.
